Kathak Auditions Toronto

an opportunity for 5 Kathak Dancers to join the creation process and performance of a new 30-minute Kathak production scheduled for October 2024, choreographed by Tanveer Alam. 

Audition Details:

• Eligibility: Advanced level dancers with over 6 years of training are eligible to apply.
• Location: Collective Space, 221 Sterling Rd, Studio 5, Toronto.
• Audition Date and Time: Saturday, January 20th, 2024, 3:30-6:30 pm.
• Audition Process:
  • Kathak Class: Covering foundations.
  • Learning: Short composition taught by Tanveer as part of the audition.
  • Solo Performances: Short 3-minute solos of your choice.

Rehearsal and Performance Engagement:

• Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings from March - October 2024.
• Start Date: March 5th, 2024.
• Performances: October, 2024, dates TBD.

Offer:

• Rehearsals will be paid at $32 per hour, as per CADA (Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists) rates.
• Performance fees will be determined closer to the date, also within CADA rates.
